Transcode Manager 2.0 Licensing

The Transcode Manager 2.0 Server uses the Digital Rapids License Server for authorization. You must obtain a Digital Rapids Hasp before you will be able to use the License Server.

Kayak Transcode Engines will also use the Digital Rapids License Server for authorization.

Stream Transcode Engines will continue to use system-based license files.

System Requirements

Operating system: Windows 7, Windows 2008 Server, 32-bit or 64-bit versions

For systems which will run Kayak Engines or the Kayak Workflow Designer:

• A 64-bit OS with a minimum of 6 GB of RAM is recommended.
• For Windows 2008 Server the Desktop Experience must be installed on systems which will run the Kayak Workflow Designer.

Transcode Engine Kayak Plugin Bundles

Select the bundle that includes the options you purchased. All bundles include the Kayak Workflow Designer.

Specific Plugin bundles:

• Kayak Plugins for Transcode Engine Studio Bundle -- This package includes all of the plugins found in the Core bundle and the Web bundle, plus Studio plugins
• Kayak Plugins for Transcode Engine Web Bundle -- This package includes the plugins found in the Core bundle, plus Web plugins
• Kayak Plugins for Transcode Engine Core -- Includes Core and Template plugins

Transcode Manager 1.6 Licensing

The Transcode Manager Server and each Transcode Engine requires a license to run. The Media Manager Console software does not require a license to run. Please refer to the Transcode Manager 1.6 Licensing guide for more information.

You will need to provide a Digital Rapids System ID or Hasp ID to obtain a license. Please refer to the Users Guide and contact Digital Rapids Technical Support to register your product and obtain the required licenses.

For Transcode Manager 1.6, you must obtain a new 1.6 license to run this version of the software. If you are upgrading from an earlier version of the software and your annual maintenance fee is up to date then this will be a free key upgrade. All new keys will include the date when your annual maintenance fee is due, and this will be visible in the server’s Help > About dialog. Note that your software will continue to run even after your annual maintenance has expired, but you will no longer be entitled to upgrades or support until your annual maintenance has been renewed.
